Cultural Appropriation
In this episode we explore the concept of “cultural appropriation” or using another’s cultural items, clothing, traditions or food in a way that is inappropriate or demeaning to that culture. Is using another culture’s items ever appropriate? Should we emphasize our differences our our similarities? Should we value tradition or innovation? What can the past teach us about how we are to move forward with this issue into the future?
